ffscreencast - ffscreencast - ffmpeg screencast/desktop-recording with video overlay and multi monitor support

  •    Shell

ffscreencast is a shell wrapper for ffmpeg that allows fool-proof screen recording via the command line. It will auto-detect all available monitors, cameras and microphones and is able to interactively or manually choose the desired recording device(s). Additionally ffscreencast will let you overlay the camera stream on top of the desktop session. Besides that ffscreencast can act as an ffmpeg command generator. Every available option can also just show the corresponding ffmpeg command instead of executing it. Non-ffmpeg commands, such as how the camera resolution is pulled and others can also be shown instead of being executed.

material-camera - One of the most difficult APIs on Android, made easy in a small library.

  •    Java

Android's video recording APIs are very difficult to figure out, especially since a lot of manufacturers like to mount their camera sensors upside down or sideways. This library is a result of lots of research and experimentation to get video recording to work universally. Please report any issues you have, and include device information. Camera behavior can be unpredictable across different Android manufacturers and versions, especially on pre-Lollipop devices. I've done quite a bit of testing, but it's possible I missed something.

Peek - Simple animated GIF screen recorder with an easy to use interface

  •    Vala

Peek makes it easy to create short screencasts of a screen area. It was built for the specific use case of recording screen areas, e.g. for easily showing UI features of your own apps or for showing a bug in bug reports. With Peek, you simply place the Peek window over the area you want to record and press "Record". Peek is optimized for generating animated GIFs, but you can also directly record to WebM or MP4 if you prefer.

CameraManager - Simple Swift class to provide all the configurations you need to create custom camera view in your app

openmv - OpenMV Camera Module

  •    C

The OpenMV project aims at making machine vision more accessible to beginners by developing a user-friendly, open-source, low-cost machine vision platform. OpenMV cameras are programmable in Python3 and come with an extensive set of image processing functions such as face detection, keypoints descriptors, color tracking, QR and Bar codes decoding, AprilTags, GIF and MJPEG recording and more. Additionally, OpenMV includes a cross-platform IDE (based on Qt Creator) designed specifically to support programmable cameras. The IDE allows viewing the camera's frame buffer, accessing sensor controls, uploading scripts to the camera via serial over USB (or WiFi/BLE if available) and includes a set of image processing tools to generate tags, thresholds, keypoints etc...

comma2k19 - A driving dataset for the development and validation of fused pose estimators and mapping algorithms

  •    Jupyter

comma.ai presents comma2k19, a dataset of over 33 hours of commute in California's 280 highway. This means 2019 segments, 1 minute long each, on a 20km section of highway driving between California's San Jose and San Francisco. comma2k19 is a fully reproducible and scalable dataset. The data was collected using comma EONs that has sensors similar to those of any modern smartphone including a road-facing camera, phone GPS, thermometers and 9-axis IMU. Additionally, the EON captures raw GNSS measurements and all CAN data sent by the car with a comma grey panda. Here we also introduced Laika, an open-source GNSS processing library. Laika produces 40% more accurate positions than the GNSS module used to collect the raw data. This dataset includes pose (position + orientation) estimates in a global reference frame of the recording camera. These poses were computed with a tightly coupled INS/GNSS/Vision optimizer that relies on data processed by Laika. comma2k19 is ideal for development and validation of tightly coupled GNSS algorithms and mapping algorithms that work with commodity sensors.

lidar_camera_calibration - ROS package to find a rigid-body transformation between a LiDAR and a camera for "LiDAR-Camera Calibration using 3D-3D Point correspondences"

  •    C++

The package is used to calibrate a LiDAR (config to support Hesai and Velodyne hardware) with a camera (works for both monocular and stereo). The package finds a rotation and translation that transform all the points in the LiDAR frame to the (monocular) camera frame. Please see Usage for a video tutorial. The lidar_camera_calibration/pointcloud_fusion provides a script to fuse point clouds obtained from two stereo cameras. Both of which were extrinsically calibrated using a LiDAR and lidar_camera_calibration. We show the accuracy of the proposed pipeline by fusing point clouds, with near perfection, from multiple cameras kept in various positions. See Fusion using lidar_camera_calibration for results of the point cloud fusion (videos).

menyoki - Screen{shot, cast} and perform ImageOps on the command line 🌱 🏞️

  •    Rust

menyoki is a screencast and screenshot utility that can also perform various image related operations such as making/splitting GIFs and modifying/analyzing image files. It aims to be a lightweight command line tool for either helping out on day-to-day life operations or complicated detail-centric issues. Originally it was designed to record/screenshot terminal windows but it can be tweaked easily for other purposes with command line arguments, environment variables, or a configuration file. menyoki requires a window system implementation of the supported platform for record and capture actions. Other features are expected to work normally since they don't require a window system running (or grabbing a window to operate on). For example, despite the macOS is not listed as a supported platform, menyoki still can perform image operations such as edit and analyze if it's compiled on macOS.
