mandala - A Go framework for writing native Android applications

  •    Go

Mandala is a framework for writing Android native applications in Go using the Goandroid toolchain. You can develop, test and run your application on your desktop and then deploy it to an Android device. It encourages the use of idiomatic Go for writing Android applications: communication happens through channels and not callbacks. The framework should not be considered a high-level game engine but as a basic layer onto which game engines can be built or existing ones can be used. In my opinion, this opens interesting scenarios in the developing of native Android applications/games in Go. Goandroid's native_activity example was the initial source of inspiration for this project. Please consider that Mandala is in a very early stage of development: API will change, test coverage is not so good for now. Last but not least, Go doesn't officially support native Android development. Regarding this point, I hope that the present work could act as a sort of incentive in the direction of an official Android support by the Go Team.

engo - Engo is an open-source 2D game engine written in Go.

  •    Go

A cross-platform game engine written in Go following an interpretation of the Entity Component System paradigm. Engo is currently compilable for Mac OSX, Linux and Windows. With the release of Go 1.4, supporting Android and the inception of iOS compatibility, mobile has been be added as a release target. Web support (gopherjs) is also available. This table shows the current state of what's working and what's not. We are aiming to turn all No columns into Yes columns.

termloop - Terminal-based game engine for Go, built on top of Termbox

  •    Go

Termloop is a pure Go game engine for the terminal, built on top of the excellent Termbox. It provides a simple render loop for building games in the terminal, and is focused on making terminal game development as easy and as fun as possible.Termloop is still under active development so changes may be breaking. I add any breaking changes to the Changelog - hopefully at this stage there shouldn't be too many. Pull requests and issues are very welcome, and do feel free to ask any questions you might have on the Gitter. I hope you enjoy using Termloop; I've had a blast making it.

engine - Go 3D Game Engine

  •    Go

G3N (pronounced "gen") is an OpenGL 3D Game Engine written in Go. It can be used to write cross-platform Go applications that show rich and dynamic 3D representations - not just games. A basic integrated GUI framework is provided, and 3D spatial audio is supported through OpenAL. Go 1.8+ is required. The engine also requires the system to have an OpenGL driver and a GCC-compatible C compiler.

goworld - Scalable Distributed Game Server Engine with Hot Swapping in Golang

  •    Go

GoWorld server adopts an entity framework, in which entities represent all players, monsters, NPCs. Entities in the same space can visit each other directly by calling methods or access attributes. Entities in different spaces can call each over using RPC.A GoWorld server consists of one dispatcher, one or more games and one or more gates. The gates are responsible for handling client connections and receive/send packets from/to clients. The games manages all entities and runs all game logic. The dispatcher is responsible for redirecting packets among games and between games and gates.

This is a 2d game engine written in Go working on OpenGL. Its an Entity/Component based engine and right now contains lots of features such as: Font,Sprites,Texture packing,Physics,Depth layers,Scenes and more. It feels like Unity3d and share the same names: Scene,Coroutines,Components,Transform,GameObjects etc...This is an educational project, I'm learning as I go, I cannot promise backwards compatibility at this point. the name will be probably changed.

In addition to that, loads of building components common to 2d platformers that will get you quickly started is also included in the engine.

UniversalPauseButton - A pause button that pauses the unpausable

  •    C++

I like to play video games. I also have a significant other, and she often walks into the room to talk to me while I'm playing a video game. I would like to pause the game so that I can give her my undivided attention while she's talking to me, but a lot of games (particularly single-player ones) have these "un-pausable" cut scenes or other areas of the game where the normal pause functionality doesn't work. This annoys both me and her, because I'm supposed to be the computer expert, and it looks like I don't even know how to pause my stupid video game. So usually what ends up happening is I skip the cut scene and miss the story, or upset my SO by not paying attention to her as well as I should. So that is why I wrote Universal Pause Button. It's a very simple Windows desktop app that sits in the system tray. Its icon resembles a pause button. When you hit the actual Pause key (also known as Break) on your keyboard, the program determines which window is currently in the foreground (i.e. your game's window,) and pauses it. No matter where you are in the game. Even in the middle of one of those pesky cut scenes that would otherwise be un-pausable. When you press the key again (as long as you haven't since re-focused to another window,) the game will un-pause.

Fiber2D - Cross-platform 2D Game Engine in pure Swift

  •    Swift

This project originated as cocos2d-objc rewrite to Swift. As I stopped commiting to the repo since June, because Obj-C is dead for me. This is still in a very alpha state, but you already can build some games with it, even though it may be unpleasant process as I change API almost every day. The project served as .dylib (.so on Linux/Android) that builds by Swift Package Manager. It requires some project config in order to use it, but you can experiment with the demo provided in the repo. Generally the project should be considered unstable and most of the API is likely to be changed.
