gitfiti - abusing github commit history for the lulz

  •        147

gitfiti noun : Carefully crafted graffiti in a github commit history calendar. gitfiti.py is a tool I wrote to decorate your github account's commit history calendar by (blatantly) abusing git's ability to accept commits in the past.

isometric-contributions - Browser extension for rendering an isometric pixel art version of your GitHub contribution graph

  •    CSS

This is an extension for Chrome, Safari (see note below), and Firefox (beta) that lets you toggle between your regular GitHub contribution chart and an isometric pixel art version. It uses obelisk.js for the isometric graphics. Besides being sort of neat looking, this view is interesting in that it highlights the differences between the number of contributions with more granularity. This isn't meant to completely replace the standard 2D graph though, because in most ways it is actually less useful. For example, there are no axis labels, shorter bars can be hidden behind taller ones, you can't hover over a bar to see the day and count, etc.

PixelCraft - A Pixel Art Editor

  •    HTML

A pixel Art & Animation Creation Tool Built using HTML5 Canvas. It is a Progressive Web App (PWA) with offline compatibility. It is mobile-friendly and is very easy to use. You can choose Any Dimensions for your Canvas, 16 X 16 is the default dimension. Dimensions below 128 X 128 are preferable for smooth operation and GIF creation.

Pixen - Pixel art editor for Mac OS X

  •

Pixen is a pixel art and animation editor for Mac OS X. With the number of Pixen clones in the Mac App Store outnumbering contributions to the project, Pixen is no longer open source. Consequently, the source tree hosted on GitHub is over two years old.

slate - Pixel Art Editor

  •    C++

Slate was built for pixel art, and its goal is to simplify the creation of sprites and tilesets by offering a user-friendly, customisable interface. See the releases page for the available downloads.

PixelCamera2D - A Pixel Perfect Camera for 2D Games in Unity.

  •    CSharp

A Pixel Perfect Camera for 2D Games in Unity.Unity is a great engine, but it isn't perfect for 2D games that use pixel art. This can become evident when you try to rotate sprites or move sprites. Rotating sprites often results in perfectly diagonal edges that leave the pixel grid. Moving sprites can have a similar problem where pixels don't line up as expected. Check out the GIFs below in the Demo section to see examples with and without PixelCamera2D.

GAAT (GNOME ASCII Art Tool)

  •

GAAT (GNOME ASCII Art Tool) is an ASCII text or HTML file generator from a picture. You can resize the output to a specific character/pixel size, select the characters to use in the substitution of the pixels, etc.

deeplab2 - DeepLab2 is a TensorFlow library for deep labeling, aiming to provide a unified and state-of-the-art TensorFlow codebase for dense pixel labeling tasks

  •    Python

DeepLab2 is a TensorFlow library for deep labeling, aiming to provide a unified and state-of-the-art TensorFlow codebase for dense pixel labeling tasks, including, but not limited to semantic segmentation, instance segmentation, panoptic segmentation, depth estimation, or even video panoptic segmentation. Deep labeling refers to solving computer vision problems by assigning a predicted value for each pixel in an image with a deep neural network. As long as the problem of interest could be formulated in this way, DeepLab2 should serve the purpose. Additionally, this codebase includes our recent and state-of-the-art research models on deep labeling. We hope you will find it useful for your projects.

obelisk.js - Build pixel isometric graphics with HTML5 canvas

  •    Javascript

obelisk.js is a JavaScript library for building isometric pixel objects. With the simple and flexible API provided, you can easily add isometric pixel elements like brick, cube, pyramid and slope in HTML5 canvas. Obelisk.js strictly follows pixel neat pattern: lines with 1:2 pixel dot arrangement, leading to an angle of 22.6 degrees.

pixel-dungeon - Traditional roguelike game with pixel-art graphics and simple interface

  •    Java

Tanks-of-Freedom - Indie Turn Based Strategy in Isometric Pixel Art

  •    GDScript

Each 32x32 sprite was handcrafted in gorgeous, 32 colour pixel art. Original soundtrack was made on Access Virus C and Korg Electribe. Sound effects were made on real GameBoy hardware. The game is open-source and runs smoothly thanks to Godot Engine. Please note, that all controls listed are for the XBox 360 controler gamepad. If you are using a different gamepad, please check for the corresponding buttons.

There is a list of Known Issues (things to be fixed or that aren't yet implemented). If you found a bug or have a new idea/feature for the program, you can report them.

ascii_art - Real-Time ASCII Art Rendering Library

  •    C

ASCII Art is a single file C/C++ library that let you transform an input image or video frame into printable ASCII characters at real-time using a single decision tree. Real-time performance is achieved by using pixel intensity comparison inside internal nodes of the tree. For a general overview on how the algorithm works, check the bottom of the demo page.

snek - An experimental system for writing generative systems

  •    Common

This library is specifically written to be useful for a broad range of ways in which I create art using various generative algorithms. A simple (graph) data structure for working with vertices and edges The structure is named snek; the name is explained below. This structure is combined with a programming pattern for applying changes to the structure. The pattern relies on alterations, see below.

react-calendar-heatmap - an svg calendar heatmap component, inspired by github's contribution graph

  •    Javascript

A calendar heatmap component built on SVG, inspired by github's commit calendar graph. The component expands to size of container and is super configurable. See a live demo. See full configuration options on the live demo page.

Image to Text Art (HTML Art, Unicode Art, Ascii Art)

  •

Image to Text Art is a class library, WinForms project & example Asp.Net site that turns images supported by the bitmap class into HTML art, Unicode art & ASCII art.

poxi - A flat pixel art editor

  •    Javascript

I've created this pixel editor because of the lack of smooth pixel editors inside the browser. All current implementations lack of speed and just feel clunky and slow. I've created a whole low-level pixel matrix framework from scratch for this, offering incredible speed, a undo/redo state machine and various basic transformation methods. This allows you to work on images even larger than 8000px á 8000px with very low memory consummation. Code related pull requests are very welcome, but please make sure they match the existing code style.

triangle - Convert images to computer generated art using delaunay triangulation.

  •    Go

Triangle is a tool to create image arts using the delaunay triangulation technique. It takes an image as input and it converts to abstract image composed of tiles of triangles. The library can be installed via Homebrew too or by downloading the binary file from the releases folder.

AncientBeast - 🐺 Turn Based Strategy Game. Master your beasts!

  •    Javascript

The project is developed with the use of free open source cross platform applications and freeware services. Mega comes in very handy when working on the game assets collaboratively, while GitHub handles the code part and stores the final assets. Art contributions can be made as well in our deviantArt group. Drop by our Discord chat and be a part of the community! Blender is being used for creating most of the assets, such as combat locations, creatures and their own animations, which are rendered into sprites that are usually made into sprite-sheets using our Spritify add-on, as well as for many other tasks. Krita, Gimp and MyPaint are useful for concept art, while Inkscape is useful for creating the vector creature ability icons.
