HiBeacons - An iBeacons example app for iOS 10, with Apple Watch (watchOS 3

  •    Swift

HiBeacons is a fully functional demo app for the iBeacons API in iOS 10, updated for Swift 3. The app can be used to demonstrate beacon region monitoring, advertising and ranging, simply by toggling on/off three switches in the UI, or the accompanying Apple Watch app. The apps implement a basic interface for starting all the operations from the iPhone and the Apple Watch, but the state of the various beacon operation can only be seen in the phone. (The watch app acts as a simple* remote).

PopcornTimeTV - Popcorn Time for Apple TV 4, iPhone and iPad

  •    Swift

PopcornTimeTV was an Apple TV, iPhone and iPad application to torrent movies and tv shows for streaming. Since 2016, this project has grown exponentially - both in its user base and in its functionality. However, the team size has gone the other way. We went from having 13+ developers on the team to 1 developer and 1 designer, both of whom have lives and projects outside of Popcorn Time. We have decided that we have given our all to this project and it's time for us to move on to pursue greater things. There is no doubt that this comes with a heavy heart as we have learned so much from this project and watched it grow from this simple torrenting app that could only play 720p video, to what it is today.

cordova-plugin-apple-watch - Cordova / PhoneGap Apple Watch Plugin for Apache Cordova

  •    Objective-C

Cordova / PhoneGap Plugin for the Apple Watch (WatchKit) to allow communication between a Cordova app and an Apple WatchKit Extension (and vice versa). You will need to write your own WatchKit Extension and WatchKit app with native code. It is not possible to run a Cordova app directly on the Watch, as there is no support for a WebView and the WatchKit code must reside in the WatchKit Extension. This plugin provides various methods of communication between a Cordova iPhone app and the WatchKit Extension / app.

There is no pre-established order of items in each category, the order is for contribution. If you want to contribute, please read the guide. Instabug has just released their visual repro steps feature to enable you to trace all the views that the user interacted with before a bug or a crash occured. This will help you reproduce bugs and fix them 10x faster. We highly recommend integrating Instabug’s framework as they compiled a lot of other great features like network logs and screen annotations, providing you with useful and rich data attached to each bug or crash report. Instabug is offering awesome-ios community an exclusive 15% discount on all paid plans. Go to 1 minute integration guide.

Shiny - Iridescent Effect View (inspired by Apple Pay Cash) โœจ

  •    Swift

Shiny is an iOS library that generates an iridescent effect view matched to the gyroscope, similar to the Apple Pay Cash card in the Wallet app. You must call startUpdates() for the instance to observe motion changes. Calling stopUpdates() on the instance will stop motion updates.

PinpointKit - Send better feedback

  •    Swift

PinpointKit is an open-source iOS library in Swift that lets your testers and users send feedback with annotated screenshots using a simple gesture. Note: ScreenshotDetector depends on the Photos framework to access the user’s photo library. This requires you to add an entry for the NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription key in your Info.plist file describing your app’s use of the user’s photo library. As of iOS 10, failure to provide a value for this key could cause your submission to the App Store to be rejected by Apple, or cause your app to exit upon attempting to access the user’s photo library. ScreenshotDetector is excluded by default when installing via CocoaPods, but is included otherwise.

hc - HomeControl is an implementation of the HomeKit Accessory Protocol (HAP) in Go.

  •    Go

HomeControl is an implementation of the HomeKit Accessory Protocol (HAP) to create your own HomeKit accessory in Go. HomeKit is a set of protocols and libraries to access devices for Home Automation. The actual protocol documentation is only available to MFi members. A non-commercial version of the documentation is now available on the HomeKit developer website. HomeKit is fully integrated since iOS 8. Developers can use the HomeKit framework to communicate with HomeKit using high-level APIs. I've developed the Home app (for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch) to control HomeKit accessories. If you purchase Home on the App Store, you not only support my work but also get an awesome iOS app. Thank you.

Voucher - A simple library to make authenticating tvOS apps easy via their iOS counterparts.

  •    Objective-C

The new Apple TV is amazing but the keyboard input leaves a lot to be desired. Instead of making your users type credentials into their TV, you can use Voucher to let them easily sign into the TV app using your iOS app. Voucher uses Bonjour, which is a technology to discover other devices on your network, and what they can do. When active, Voucher on tvOS starts looking in your local network and over AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link) for any Voucher Server, on iOS.

Slave-in-the-Magic-Mirror - Open source implementation of AirPlay Mirroring. WIP.

  •    Python

In short: Apple has a thing that lets you show what's on your iPhone or iPad or Mac on your Apple TV. This lets you see it on your Linux or Mac computer or media center too, maybe. AirPlay Mirroring uses a funky mish-mash of standards wrapped in some DRM. Slave in the Magic Mirror packs the audio and video data into a standard media container and hands it to VLC. The DRM is handled by calling into the original Apple TV server binary using a pure-python ARM interpreter.

iHasApp - The iHasApp iOS Framework allows you to detect installed apps on a user's device.

  •    Objective-C

#####This project was made as a "proof of concept" demonstration of how to detect apps installed on an iOS device, from early 2011. Since then, it has been used extensively in many apps, to the point where Apple made the decision to ban the excessive use of -canOpenURL:, the method which iHasApp relies upon to determine app installation. As a result, using a list of URL schemes for app detection is no longer a viable method. We found that your app uses public APIs in a manner not prescribed by Apple, which is not in compliance with the iOS Developer Program License Agreement, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

Magnetic - SpriteKit Floating Bubble Picker (inspired by Apple Music)

  •    Swift

Magnetic is a customizable bubble picker like the Apple Music genre selection. A Magnetic object is an SKScene.

iOS-URL-Schemes - iOS URL list schemes: This is a github solution from my gist of iOS list for urls schemes https://gist

  •    Swift

Apple will reject apps that are using private url schemes (Ugh, Apple....) if they are pretty much obvius. Some apps are rejected and others are not, so, be aware of this issue before implementing any of those URL's in your app as a feature.
