You might want to take Cloud Operations to a "test drive" in order to answer the question, "will it work for my application needs"? The most effective way to learn is by testing the tool in "real-life" conditions, but without risking a production system. With Sandbox, we provide a tool that automatically provisions a new demo cluster, which receives traffic, simulating real users. Practitioners can experiment with various Cloud Operations tools to solve problems and accomplish standard SRE tasks in a sandboxed environment.

Since 2013-ish, Joe Goldberg, who created the original document inspiring this list, read a crap-ton of books and articles about "leadership" and "management" and took notes along the way. He shared it with friends who were transitioning to management roles and eventually decided to open-source it. Here you'll find Joe's still-public document, which provides meatier summaries of the articles you'll find listed here as well as lots of supplementary notes. In summer 2017 Lauri Apple found out about Joe's docs via Software Lead Weekly and asked Joe about posting the contents to GitHub. He gave the greenlight. Lauri changed up the format (very brief blurbs), turned the doc into an Awesome List, and has continued adding new entries ever since. Helping out with the initial upload were a team of Lauri's former colleagues at Zalando. These days the list receives contributions from people around the world.

NATS is a simple, fast and reliable solution for the internal communication of a distributed system. It chooses simplicity and reliability over guaranteed delivery. We want to provide a toolkit to develop micro services in an easy and powerful way. We provide a pattern matching RPC style. You don't have to worry about the transport. NATS is powerful.Hemera has not been designed for high performance on a single process. It has been designed to create lots of microservices doesn't matter where they live. It choose simplicity and reliability as primary goals. It act together with NATS as central nervous system of your distributed system. Transport independency was not considered to be a relevant factor. In addition we use pattern matching which is very powerful. The fact that Hemera needs a broker is an argument which should be taken into consideration when you compare hemera with other frameworks. The relevant difference between microservice frameworks like senecajs, molecurer is not the performance or modularity its about the complexity you need to manage. Hemera is expert in providing an interface to work with lots of services in the network, NATS is the expert to deliver the message at the right place. Hemera is still a subscriber of NATS with some magic in routing and extensions. We don't have to worry about all different aspects in a distributed system like routing, load-balancing, service-discovery, clustering, health-checks ...

TL;DR: Que is a high-performance alternative to DelayedJob or QueueClassic that improves the reliability of your application by protecting your jobs with the same ACID guarantees as the rest of your data. Que's primary goal is reliability. You should be able to leave your application running indefinitely without worrying about jobs being lost due to a lack of transactional support, or left in limbo due to a crashing process. Que does everything it can to ensure that jobs you queue are performed exactly once (though the occasional repetition of a job can be impossible to avoid - see the docs on how to write a reliable job).

Let's just build an open-source distributed store that takes correctness seriously at the local storage, sharding, and distributed transactional layers.

The simplicity (of developing, deploying and using) and meeting many data serving requirements in single system are the main features of Palo. In Baidu, the largest Chinese search engine, we run a two-tiered data warehousing system for data processing, reporting and analysis. Similar to lambda architecture, the whole data warehouse comprises data processing and data serving. Data processing does the heavy lifting of big data: cleaning data, merging and transforming it, analyzing it and preparing it for use by end user queries; data serving is designed to serve queries against that data for different use cases. Currently data processing includes batch data processing and stream data processing technology, like Hadoop, Spark and Storm; Palo is a SQL data warehouse for serving online and interactive data reporting and analysis querying.
