csstree - A tool set for working with CSS including fast detailed parser, walker, generator and lexer based on W3C specs and browser implementations

  •    Javascript

CSSTree is a tool set to work with CSS, including fast detailed parser (string->AST), walker (AST traversal), generator (AST->string) and lexer (validation and matching) based on knowledge of spec and browser implementations. The main goal is to be efficient and W3C spec compliant, with focus on CSS analyzing and source-to-source transforming tasks. NOTE: The project is in alpha stage since some parts need further improvements, AST format and API are subjects to change. However it's stable enough and used by packages like CSSO (CSS minifier) and SVGO (SVG optimizer) in production.

csso - CSS minifier with structural optimizations

  •    Javascript

CSSO (CSS Optimizer) is a CSS minifier. It performs three sort of transformations: cleaning (removing redundant), compression (replacement for shorter form) and restructuring (merge of declarations, rulesets and so on). As a result your CSS becomes much smaller. Warning: CSSO uses early versions of CSSTree that still in active development. CSSO doesn't guarantee API behind syntax field or AST format will not change in future releases of CSSO, since it's subject to change in CSSTree. Be carefull with CSSO updates if you use syntax API until this warning removal.

A collection of SCSS specific linting rules for stylelint (in a form of a plugin). stylelint by itself supports SCSS syntax very well (as well as other preprocessors' syntaxes). Moreover, it introduces some specific rules that can be used to lint SCSS, e.g. to limit nesting, control the way @-rules are written. Yet stylelint is in general focused on standard CSS.

postcss-bem-linter - A BEM linter for postcss

  •    Javascript

A PostCSS plugin to lint BEM-style CSS.BEM-style describes CSS that follows a more-or-less strict set of conventions determining what selectors can be used. Typically, these conventions require that classes begin with the name of the component (or "block") that contains them, and that all characters after the component name follow a specified pattern. Original BEM methodology refers to "blocks", "elements", and "modifiers"; SUIT refers to "components", "descendants", and "modifiers". You might have your own terms for similar concepts.

This module requires a minimum of Node v6.9.0 and webpack v4.0.0. Both stylelint-loader and this module have their uses. stylelint-loader lints the files you require (or the ones you define as an entry in your webpack config). However, @imports in files are not followed, meaning only the main file for each require/entry is linted.

syntastic - Syntax checking hacks for vim

  •    Vim

Syntastic is a syntax checking plugin for Vim created by Martin Grenfell. It runs files through external syntax checkers and displays any resulting errors to the user. This can be done on demand, or automatically as files are saved. If syntax errors are detected, the user is notified and is happy because they didn't have to compile their code or execute their script to find them. At the time of this writing, syntastic has checking plugins for ACPI Source Language, ActionScript, Ada, Ansible configurations, API Blueprint, AppleScript, AsciiDoc, Assembly languages, BEMHTML, Bro, Bourne shell, C, C++, C#, Cabal, Chef, CMake, CoffeeScript, Coco, Coq, CSS, Cucumber, CUDA, D, Dart, DocBook, Dockerfile, Dust, Elixir, Erlang, eRuby, Fortran, Gentoo metadata, GLSL, Go, Haml, Haskell, Haxe, Handlebars, HSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript, JSON, JSX, Julia, LESS, Lex, Limbo, LISP, LLVM intermediate language, Lua, Markdown, MATLAB, Mercury, NASM, Nix, Objective-C, Objective-C++, OCaml, Perl, Perl 6, Perl POD, PHP, gettext Portable Object, OS X and iOS property lists, Pug (formerly Jade), Puppet, Python, QML, R, Racket, RDF TriG, RDF Turtle, Relax NG, reStructuredText, RPM spec, Ruby, SASS/SCSS, Scala, Slim, SML, Solidity, Sphinx, SQL, Stylus, Tcl, TeX, Texinfo, Twig, TypeScript, Vala, Verilog, VHDL, Vim help, VimL, Vue.js, xHtml, XML, XSLT, XQuery, YACC, YAML, YANG data models, YARA rules, z80, Zope page templates, and Zsh. css-colorguard - Keep a watchful eye on your css colors.

  •    Javascript

Every CSS project starts out with good intentions, but inevitably, one too many people eye-dropper colors into nooks and crannies that you never knew existed. CSS Colorguard helps you maintain the color set that you want, and warns you when colors you've added are too similar to ones that already exist. Naturally, it's all configurable to your tastes. Colorguard uses the CIEDE2000 algorithm to determine the similarity of each of the colors in your CSS file. This algorithm is quite complex, but is used in the broadcasting community as the best approximation of human ability to discern differences in color. RGB on the other hand, is pretty bad at representing differences in color purely based on the numerical difference of the hex values.

scss-blend-modes - Using standard color blending functions in SASS.

  •    CSS

CSS doesn't natively support color blending the way that Photoshop does. This library attempts to fake that by allowing you to blend a foreground color with a background color in order to approximate color blending. This is not a dynamic blend; you can't use this to blend a color with an image. This was originally intended for use with the Compass Photoshop Drop Shadow Plugin but it proved impractical to integrate. Adobe has been working on a W3C spec to add blend modes to CSS3. However, CSS blend modes have extremely limited support in browsers, as of September 2013. This library is not a polyfill for those blend modes. A polyfill for dynamic blend modes will require something like SVG and JavaScript and would likely be quite complicated (or impossible).
