fourier-feature-networks - Fourier Features Let Networks Learn High Frequency Functions in Low Dimensional Domains

We show that passing input points through a simple Fourier feature mapping enables a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to learn high-frequency functions in low-dimensional problem domains. These results shed light on recent advances in computer vision and graphics that achieve state-of-the-art results by using MLPs to represent complex 3D objects and scenes. Using tools from the neural tangent kernel (NTK) literature, we show that a standard MLP fails to learn high frequencies both in theory and in practice. To overcome this spectral bias, we use a Fourier feature mapping to transform the effective NTK into a stationary kernel with a tunable bandwidth. We suggest an approach for selecting problem-specific Fourier features that greatly improves the performance of MLPs for low-dimensional regression tasks relevant to the computer vision and graphics communities. We provide a demo IPython notebook as a simple reference for the core idea. The scripts used to generate the paper plots and tables are located in the Experiments directory.

VkFFT - Vulkan/CUDA/HIP/OpenCL Fast Fourier Transform library

VkFFT is an efficient GPU-accelerated multidimensional Fast Fourier Transform library for Vulkan/CUDA/HIP/OpenCL projects. VkFFT aims to provide the community with an open-source alternative to Nvidia's cuFFT library while achieving better performance. VkFFT is written in C language and supports Vulkan, CUDA, HIP and OpenCL as backends. Vulkan version: Include the vkFFT.h file and glslang compiler. Provide the library with correctly chosen VKFFT_BACKEND definition (VKFFT_BACKEND=0 for Vulkan). Sample CMakeLists.txt file configures project based on Vulkan_FFT.cpp file, which contains examples on how to use VkFFT to perform FFT, iFFT and convolution calculations, use zero padding, multiple feature/batch convolutions, C2C FFTs of big systems, R2C/C2R transforms, R2R DCT-II, III and IV, double precision FFTs, half precision FFTs. For single and double precision, Vulkan 1.0 is required. For half precision, Vulkan 1.1 is required.
