go-git - A highly extensible Git implementation in pure Go.

go-git is a highly extensible git implementation library written in pure Go. It can be used to manipulate git repositories at low level (plumbing) or high level (porcelain), through an idiomatic Go API. It also supports several type of storage, such as in-memory filesystems, or custom implementations thanks to the Storer interface.

libgit2 - The Library

libgit2 is a portable, pure C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a re-entrant linkable library with a solid API, allowing you to write native speed custom Git applications in any language which supports C bindings. libgit2 is already very usable and is being used in production for many applications including the GitHub.com site.

objective-git - Objective-C bindings to libgit2

ObjectiveGit provides Cocoa bindings to the libgit2 library, packaged as a dynamic framework for OS X and iOS 8 or better. Many classes in the ObjectiveGit API wrap a C struct from libgit2 and expose the underlying data and operations using Cocoa idioms. The underlying libgit2 types are prefixed with git_ and are often accessible via a property so that your application can take advantage of the libgit2 API directly.

GitPython - GitPython is a python library used to interact with Git repositories.

GitPython is a python library used to interact with git repositories, high-level like git-porcelain, or low-level like git-plumbing. It provides abstractions of git objects for easy access of repository data, and additionally allows you to access the git repository more directly using either a pure python implementation, or the faster, but more resource intensive git command implementation.

GitSharp - Git library for .NET and Mono

GitSharp is an implementation of Git for the Dot.Net Framework and Mono. It is aimed to be fully compatible to the original Git and shall be a light weight library for cool applications that are based on Git as their object database or are reading or manipulating repositories in some way.

Dulwich - Pure-Python Git implementation

Dulwich is a pure-Python implementation of the Git file formats and protocols. It provides an interface to Git repository (both local and remote) that doesn't call out to git directly but instead uses pure Python.

gitlab-shell - Replacement for gitolite

GitLab Shell handles git commands for GitLab and modifies the list of authorized keys. GitLab Shell is not a Unix shell nor a replacement for Bash or Zsh. Maybe you wonder why in the case of git push over http(s) the Rails app doesn't handle authentication before delegating to GitLab Shell. This is because GitLab Rails doesn't have the logic to interpret git push commands. The idea is to have these interpretation code in only one place and this is GitLab Shell so we can reuse it for ssh access. Actually GitLab Shell executes all git push commands without checking authorizations and relies on the pre-receive hooks to check authorizations. When you do a git pull command the authorizations are checked before executing the commands (either in GitLab Rails or GitLab Shell with an API call to GitLab Rails). The authorization checks for git pull are much simpler since you only have to check if a user can access the repo (no need to check branch permissions).

git-labelmaker - :flags: Manage your GitHub labels from the command line!

Edit GitHub labels from the command line using git-labelmaker! You can easily add or remove GitHub labels, making it easier for your projects to adhere to a sane labelling scheme. Currently you must be using version >= 4.0.0 of node, because we're using some fancy-shmancy ES6 stuff (Promises are too awesome to not use), and also because the dependant package git-label also currently requires >= 4.0.0.

EGit - Git plugin for Eclipse

git-hub - Do GitHub operations from the `git` command

The hub subcommand for git, allows you to perform many of the operations made available by GitHub's v3 REST API, from the git commandline command. You can fork, create, delete and modify repositories. You can get information about users, repositories and issues. You can star, watch and follow things, and find out who else is doing the same. The API is quite extensive. With this command you can do many of your day to day GitHub actions without needing a web browser.

grgit - The Groovy way to use Git.

JGit provides a powerful Java API for interacting with Git repositories. However, in a Groovy context it feels very cumbersome, making it harder to express the operations you want to perform without being surrounded by a lot of cruft. Grgit is a wrapper over JGit that provides a fluent API for interacting with Git repositories in Groovy-based tooling.

git-secret - :busts_in_silhouette: A bash-tool to store your private data inside a git repository.

git-secret is a bash tool which stores private data inside a git repo. git-secret encrypts tracked files with public keys for users whom you trust using gpg, allowing permitted users to access encrypted data using their secret keys. With git-secret, changes to access rights are made easy and private-public key issues are handled for you. Passwords do not need to be changed with git-secret when someone's permission is revoked - just remove their key from the keychain using git secret killperson their@email.com, and re-encrypt the files, and they won't be able to decrypt secrets anymore. It also supports apt and yum. You can also use make if you want to. See the installation section for the details.
