windows - Development repository for Chef Cookbook windows

  •    Ruby

Provides a set of Windows-specific resources to aid in the creation of cookbooks/recipes targeting the Windows platform. As of Chef Client 13.0+ and 13.4+ windows_task and windows_path are now included in the Chef client. windows_task underwent a full rewrite that greatly improved the functionality and idempotency of the resource. We highly recommend using these new resources by upgrading to Chef 13.4 or later. If you are running these more recent Chef releases the windows_task and windows_path resources within chef-client will take precedence over those in this cookbook. In September 2018 we will release a new major version of this cookbook that removes windows_task and windows_path.

svtplay-dl - Small command-line program to download videos from some streaming sites.

  •    Python

You will need to run brew install ffmpeg or brew install libav afterwards, if you don't already have one of these packages. svtplay-dl is available in Debian Jessie and later and on Ubuntu 14.04 and later, which means you can install it straight away using apt. The version in their repo is often old and thus we strongly recommend using our own apt repo, which always include the latest version. The svtplay-dl repo for Debian / Ubuntu can be found at apt.svtplay-dl.se.

chef-cookbooks - Open source chef cookbooks.

  •    Ruby

It's worth reading our Philosophy.md doc before reading this. It covers how we use Chef and is important context before reading this.Unlike other cookbook models, we do not use resources as APIs, we use the node object. Configuration is modeled in arrays and hashes as closely and thinly as possible to the service we are configuring. Ideally, you should only have to read the docs to the service to configure it, not the docs to the cookbook.

Chocolatey - Like apt-get but for windows

  •    CSharp

3270font - A 3270 font in a modern format

  •    Makefile

This font is derived from the x3270 font, which, in turn, was translated from the one in Georgia Tech's 3270tool, which was itself hand-copied from a 3270 series terminal. I built it because I felt terminals deserve to be pretty. The .sfd font file contains a x3270 bitmap font that was used for guidance. If you are running Debian or Ubuntu and you don't want to mess with building your font files, you can simply apt-get install fonts-3270 (It's available from the Debian (https://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts/fonts-3270) and Ubuntu (http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/fonts-3270) package repos at https://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts/fonts-3270 and http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/fonts/fonts-3270, although the packaged version may not be the latest version, but it's good enough for most purposes. For those who don't have the luxury of a proper system-managed package, Adobe Type 1, TTF, OTF and WOFF versions are available for download on http://s3.amazonaws.com/3270font/3270_fonts_b3b4b7d.zip (although this URL may not always reflect the latest version).

chef-rvm - Chef cookbook with resources to install and configure Ruby via the Ruby Version Manager (RVM)

  •    Ruby

There is currently a major rewrite going on with this cookbook to simply the interface to RVM with Chef. Expect the master branch to be very broken until there is a 1.0 release. All previous pull requests will need to rebase to the newer master to contribute to the new Resource based cookbook. Manages system-wide and per-user RVMs and manages installed Rubies. Several resources are defined to accomplish these tasks.
