acs-engine - Azure Container Service Engine - a place for community to collaborate and build the best open Docker container infrastructure for Azure

  •        94

The Azure Container Service Engine (acs-engine) generates ARM (Azure Resource Manager) templates for Docker enabled clusters on Microsoft Azure with your choice of DC/OS, Kubernetes, Swarm Mode, or Swarm orchestrators. The input to the tool is a cluster definition. The cluster definition is very similar to (in many cases the same as) the ARM template syntax used to deploy a Microsoft Azure Container Service cluster.Execute make ci to run the checkin validation tests.

faas-netes - Enable Kubernetes as a backend for OpenFaaS (Functions as a Service)

  •    Go

This is a plugin to enable Kubernetes as an OpenFaaS backend. The existing CLI and UI are fully compatible. It also opens up the possibility for other plugins to be built for orchestation frameworks such as Nomad, Mesos/Marathon or even a cloud-managed back-end such as Hyper.sh or Azure ACI.OpenFaaS is an event-driven serverless framework for containers. Any container for Windows or Linux can be leveraged as a serverless function. OpenFaaS is quick and easy to deploy (less than 60 secs) and lets you avoid writing boiler-plate code.

cilium - HTTP, gRPC, and Kafka Aware Security and Networking for Containers with BPF and XDP

  •    Go

Cilium is open source software for providing and transparently securing network connectivity and loadbalancing between application workloads such as application containers or processes. Cilium operates at Layer 3/4 to provide traditional networking and security services as well as Layer 7 to protect and secure use of modern application protocols such as HTTP, gRPC and Kafka. Cilium is integrated into common orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes and Mesos. A new Linux kernel technology called BPF is at the foundation of Cilium. It supports dynamic insertion of BPF bytecode into the Linux kernel at various integration points such as: network IO, application sockets, and tracepoints to implement security, networking and visibility logic. BPF is highly efficient and flexible. To learn more about BPF, read more in our extensive BPF and XDP Reference Guide.

rexray - REX-Ray is a container storage orchestration engine enabling persistence for cloud native workloads

  •    Go

Note: All hosted unstable and staged binaries older than 0.11.2-rc1 have been pruned due to quota restrictions. The long-term goal of the REX-Ray project is to enable collaboration between organizations focused on creating enterprise-grade storage plugins for the Container Storage Interface (CSI). As a rapidly changing specification, CSI support within REX-Ray will be planned when CSI reaches version 1.0, currently projected for a late 2018 release. In the interim, there remains active engagement with the project to support the community.

PiCluster - Manage Docker Containers

  •    Javascript

PiCluster is a simple way to manage Docker containers on multiple hosts. Docker Swarm not that good and Kubernetes was too difficult to install currently on ARM. PiCluster will only build and run images from Dockerfile's on the host specified in the config file. This software will work on regular x86 hardware also and is not tied to ARM.

zabbix-docker-monitoring - :whale: Docker/Kubernetes/Mesos/Marathon/Chronos/LXC/LXD/Swarm container monitoring - Docker image, Zabbix template and C module

  •    C

If you like or use this project, please provide feedback to author - Star it ★ and write what's missing for you.Monitoring of Docker container by using Zabbix. Available CPU, mem, blkio, net container metrics and some containers config details, e.g. IP, name, ... Zabbix Docker module has native support for Docker containers (Systemd included) and should also support a few other container types (e.g. LXC) out of the box. Please feel free to test and provide feedback/open issue. The module is focused on performance, see section Module vs. UserParameter script.

go-health - Library for enabling asynchronous health checks in your service

  •    Go

A library that enables async dependency health checking for services running on an orchastrated container platform such as kubernetes or mesos. Container orchestration platforms require that the underlying service(s) expose a "healthcheck" which is used by the platform to determine whether the container is in a good or bad state.

Swarmpit - Lightweight Docker Swarm management UI

  •    Clojure

Swarmpit provides simple and easy to use interface for your Docker Swarm cluster. You can manage your services, secrets, volumes, networks etc. After linking your Docker Hub account or custom registry, private repositories can be easily deployed on Swarm. Swarm - Docker native clustering system

  •    Go

Docker Swarm is native clustering for Docker. It turns a pool of Docker hosts into a single, virtual host. It is Docker's first container orchestration project that began in 2014. Combined with Docker Compose, it's a very convenient tool to schedule containers.

chronos - Fault tolerant job scheduler for Mesos which handles dependencies and ISO8601 based schedules

  •    Scala

Chronos is a replacement for cron. It is a distributed and fault-tolerant scheduler that runs on top of Apache Mesos that can be used for job orchestration. It supports custom Mesos executors as well as the default command executor. Thus by default, Chronos executes sh (on most systems bash) scripts. Chronos can be used to interact with systems such as Hadoop (incl. EMR), even if the Mesos agents on which execution happens do not have Hadoop installed. Included wrapper scripts allow transfering files and executing them on a remote machine in the background and using asynchronous callbacks to notify Chronos of job completion or failures. Chronos is also natively able to schedule jobs that run inside Docker containers.

pulumi - Pulumi is an SDK for cloud native infrastructure as code

  •    Go

The Pulumi Cloud Native Development Platform is the easiest way to create and deploy cloud programs that use containers, serverless functions, hosted services, and infrastructure, on any cloud. iot-edge - Azure IoT Edge

  •    C

The Azure IoT Gateway SDK was our first step to enabling edge analytics in IoT solutions. We’re doubling down on, and expanding, this vision as explained in Satya’s Keynote at the Build conference and Sam George’s blog post. As part of this evolution, the SDK is becoming an extensible product you can use instead of a set of code you build. To reflect this, we’re changing the name to Azure IoT Edge. This similarity means that existing solutions can evolve with the product! There will be some infrastructural changes. For example: modules will run in Docker containers and the broker used to pass messages between module code will move to a lite version of IoT Hub running locally in a module. The vast majority of this is shielded from both a module developer and gateway developer.
