Youtensils - Youtensils

Youtensils is a web based application that enables users to record audio and video content from YouTube. ImplementationYoutensils is built with GWT and Java. It's currently hosted on the AppEngine. The site searches YouTube via the Google GData YouTube API. Using the Source CodeThere are two components to the YouTensils site: The GWT app - GWT is a framework from Google that allows you to compile Java code to HTML/JavaScript. The GWT app contains the YouTensils interface. The Java applet - To download and manipulate audio in FLV files, a Java applet is used. The applet is hidden and manipulated by the GWT application through Java/Javascript communication. When you download and extract the source code archive (see the downloads section) you'll see the following two Eclipse projects: org.youtensils.client - The GWT project. Go through the GWT documentation to learn how to develop for GWT inside Eclipse. org.youtensils.client.plugin - The Java Applet project. The applet needs to be signed because it makes use of features that are outside the Java security sandbox (such as cross domain requests and file system access). Live Beta VersionYou can start using Youtensils right now by browsing to Youtensils.org. Or you can look at the source code.
