The vector graphics foundry is for promoting the development of tools and libraries that work with structured graphics. Imagery is incorporated as one kind of manipulable graphic, but manipulation within the image is not the focus of this software.

Inkscape - Vector Graphics Editor

Inkscape is a vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. It supports many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.) and great care is taken in designing a streamlined interface. It is very easy to edit nodes, perform complex path operations, trace bitmaps and much more.

Synfig Studio - 2D animation software

Synfig Studio is a free and open-source 2D animation software, designed as powerful industrial-strength solution for creating film-quality animation using a vector and bitmap artwork. It eliminates the need to create animation frame-by frame, allowing you to produce 2D animation of a higher quality with fewer people and resources.

beez::svg bezier animator

Vector-graphics editor/animator (Lazarus, under GPL) for rotoscoping animations.

Cairo Graphics

Cairo is a 2D graphics library with support for multiple output devices. Currently supported output targets include the X Window System, Quartz, Win32, image buffers, PostScript, PDF, and SVG file output. Experimental backends include OpenGL (through glitz), XCB, BeOS, OS/2, and DirectFB.

Gwt-vectorgraphics - VectorGraphics support for GWT using java.awt.Graphics2d

Say you have a library written against java.awt.Graphics(2d) and other java.awt graphics related classes. A library to do plots or other things. If you want to use this in GWT you would have to rewrite quite a bit. gwt-vectorgraphics provides you with a GraphicsContext and graphics support interfaces to rewrite your library against, so that you can either use java.awt.Graphics2d underneath, or some SVG/VML generated nodes for GWT. Code: coming soon...

Squigle - JavaScript Vector Graphics Framework

Project Aim: Allow users to utilize cross browser vector graphics from a single API with disregard for the implementing technology (VML, SVG).

Arcomage-web - A game of Arcomage implemented in Javascript

The minigame of arcomage as known from the hit role playing game Might and Magic VII from 3DO. Project aims to rely on HTML5, CSS3, Javascript technologies only. Javascript libraries planned to use is jQuery (for general purpose) and Processing.js.

Dream2d - Dream project aims to create a unique game world based on 2D vector graphics and realistic

Dream is a cross-platform game engine focused on 2D vector graphics (OpenGL backend) and realistic physics. The aim is to create a 2D world supporting object movement and interaction based on realistic Newton physics (probably limited to solid polygonal shapes). Dream is written in Python, with performance bottleneck parts subsequently moved to Pyrex/C code. Dream uses Pyrex, PyGame, PyOpenGL, and Numpy. It is designed to support networking.
