Building from sourceIn order to successfully compile amSynth you will need to make sure you have the following development packages installed: GTK-- version 1.2.9 is required for the GUI. Open Sound System (optional) for midi & audio. ALSA 0.9x (optional) for midi & audio. JACK (optional) for audio output. libsndfile (optional) for the .WAV file output ability. Then unzip the archive containing the source code and compile it like this: $ tar -xzvf amSynth-1.3.0.tar.gz$ cd amSynth-1.3.0$ ./configure$ make$ sudo make installCompiling latest sources from GIT: $ git clone https://code.google.com/p/amsynth/$ cd amsynth$ ./autogen.sh$ ./configure$ make$ sudo make install
